Our Annual Conference, South Georgia, has published a few ways we can reach out and help our neighbors in the Carolinas and other places affected by Hurricane Florence. Those are detailed in an article in the Advocate, the Conference newsletter.
Let me highlight two ways. First, you can donate to UMCOR, the United Methodist relief organization. All the money you donate to them will go directly to those in need. Second, you can put together cleaning kits. The article from the conference has instructions for compiling those. But rather than drop them off at one of the churches the conference lists, please feel free to drop them off at the church office. We can take care of getting them to Wesley UMC in Macon before the end of October.
Thank you for your care and concern for our neighbors. Part of the strength of our connection as Methodists comes through in moments like this as we organize to care for each other.
