For some time, I have heard of desire from several folks to do a mission trip. We now have an opportunity to help renovate additional facility space for a homeless shelter in Rome, Georgia! The trip would be Monday, July 16 through Thursday, July 19, and cost $150 per person.

The Davies Homeless Shelter serves the Rome, Georgia community, led by my friend the Rev. Devon Smyth. They construction help they’re seeking would encompass anyone of just about any age and any skill ability (or lack thereof). We’ll spend days helping with construction, some time in worship and recreation at Berry College, and our nights in the gym of First Methodist of Rome (we’re grateful for their hospitality!). The $150 covers food, travel in the church van, and other associated expenses.

Please indicate your commitment by June 11. Knowing by that date will allow us to make sure we have enough folks to make the trip. Space is limited to fourteen folks and we already have two committed.
