Give us grace, O Lord, to answer readily the call of our Savior Jesus Christ and proclaim to all people the Good News of his salvation, that we and the whole world may perceive the glory of his marvelous works;
Holy God, we have much good news in our lives to celebrate. In a warm cup of coffee enjoyed this morning, there is joy. In the lives of our families, with whom we share our life, there is happiness. In this moment of worship, where we have the opportunity to share the delight of knowing you with others we love, there is deep gladness. Hear us now as we celebrate with you the good news in our lives:
[Silence]
We enjoy such blessings because you love us and give us all that is good out of your abundant grace. Such is worthy of celebrating, worthy of telling others about; such forms, for us, the good news of your gospel. Such good news reveals our salvation, that we are not saved from something but saved into something: saved into your abundance. We give you thanks for the abundance we know in our lives, telling you silently now about the blessings we have:
[Silence]
Life, we know all too well, can be abundant and also scarce. We know personally that all news is not good, that we have trials and tribulations. Your salvation saves us into your love, and we ask now for a fresh outpouring of your love, grace, and mercy into the areas of our lives where we are experiencing trouble.
[Silence]
We ask, too, for that same love, mercy, and grace to be felt afresh and anew in the lives of those we know who suffer this day.
[Silence]
We ask it, again, for those we know who are far away from you, who may not yet know of your salvation; those we know in our lives who need to know you
[Silence]
We thank you that you hear us, that you are aware of us, that you choose to be not only with us, but to use your mighty power on our behalf. We give you all the praise, honor, and glory, as your disciples,
Amen.
