Five Kernels of Corn | An Ancient Modern Thanksgiving Tradition

On Sunday, Leigh shared a special thanksgiving tradition with our children during the children’s sermon. Back at the very beginning of our holiday in the seventeenth century, folks put out five kernels of corn, with each marking the things they were thankful for:

1) God loves us

2) God provides for our needs

3) The friends God gives us

4) All the people God gives us who love us

5) God hears our prayers and answers us

This thanksgiving, consider putting five kernels of corn out for your family and friends to mark our thanksgiving for God’s presence in our lives.

Happy Thanksgiving!
