Coming this Sunday afternoon is charge conference, the annual business and ministry meeting of the local church. As we continue to live into the new cluster system, note that we will be meeting for charge conference with several other churches at Perry Crossroads UMC, 1600 Main St., Perry, GA.

I invite you to join me as we gather with these other churches not just to conduct business, but to worship together as one, celebrating the ministry that’s occurring in communities all around us and here in Eastman. If you have little experience and/or knowledge of the connectional system that characterizes life as a Methodist, I especially invite you to come and experience what it means to be in relationship with other churches and the district. I was thoroughly confused my first charge conference as a lay person, but it helped expose me to the larger world in which my church lived.

Charge Conference will be at 4:00 p.m. this coming Sunday, October 22, at Perry Crossroads UMC.
