The church office will be open regular business hours for these two weeks, including on Columbus Day. Cathy will be able to help with most anything that comes up during that time as I will be out for much of it. Today, I embark for a conference on church leadership, held in Atlanta, with members of our Annual Conference and our bishop. I’m excited for the opportunity to reflect upon these past several months and to learn.

After our vacation, I’ll be spending time at Emory University finalizing my ordination paperwork on a writing retreat. On Wednesday the 11th, I’ll head back here to Eastman.

Many thanks to all of you who have encouraged us to take this vacation time. The time to practice sabbath is invaluable and something we’ll explore together upon my return to the pulpit on October 15. I’m looking forward to that and, until, then,
