Here we are, Lord, Eastman First Methodist; what’s your plan?
That question, the one we’ve been prayerfully considering since I began here, has led to lots of wonderful and amazing conversation full of ideas, life, and excitement. I’m excited about where we’re headed as a church and our common future together as we continue to discern God’s call on our church.
As part of our discernment process, I invite you to join me at Pathways! This annual workshop at Trinity UMC in Warner Robins offers the opportunity to discover new and innovative ideas that can inspire and encourage our common labor for Christ’s church here in Eastman and Dodge County. I believe our attendance will aid in our current discernment process.
So, mark your calendars for Saturday, August 26! On that day, churches from all over South Georgia are invited to participate in a workshop series. This is a great place to get ideas, learn about new strategies for reaching the community, and hear what other churches are doing all around us. I’ll be teaching two sessions and you’ll have the opportunity to learn from our bishop, as well!
To learn more, visit the Pathways website here: http://www.sgaumc.org/pathways Registration is required and available at that same link as well. For a listing of sessions and the day’s schedule, click here: http://www.sgaumc.org/files/websites/www/pathwaysfinal.pdf
Please let me know if you plan to go! If we have enough folks, we could look at using the church van to travel together to Warner Robins.
Peace,
Ted
